October 6th 2020. The Nano-Biomaterials Symposium organized by Prof. Deling Kong of Nankai University and directed by Prof. Xingjie Liang, Research Fellow of the National Nano Center was successfully held in the Comprehensive Laboratory Building of Nankai University's Jinnan Campus. More than 70 students and 16 experts from the State Key Laboratory, the College of Life Sciences and the School of Chemistry attended the meeting.

There were three agenda items for the seminar. Prof. Kong first addressed the seminar, welcoming Prof. Liang and thnaking his attendance and valuable guidance. He briefly introduced the current research activities of the State Key Laboratory and called for more fruitful exchange seminars to realize scientific collaboration and innovation.

In the academic report section, 14 experts including Prof. Deling Kong and Prof. Linqi Shi shared their latest scientific research and ideas, which included the preparation and application of artificial extracellular vesicles; the physical effects of intramolecular motions; controllable self-assembly of enzymatic polypeptides; applications of nanomaterials as antibacterials, construction of nanomedicines; biomimetic and manufacturing of nanoenzymes; the precise immobilization of biomolecules in confined spaces; and other reports on frontiers in nanobiology and nanomaterials.

After the academic report, Prof. Liang affirmed and encouraged the work of the experts, pointing out the development of teachers and students relies on the power of the nano-research platform, while encouraging the maintainance and development of independent scientific research and cooperation to pursue more in-depth scientific research at an international class. The College of Life Sciences Dean, Prof. Quan Chen briefly introduced the current situation of the State Key Laboratory and highlighted that professors and students should refer to the requirements of the country at this critical time, whilst considering the pursuit of major technologies. Prof. Kong concluded the meeting, praising the teachers and students for their unique research and reports. We were left with an extremely positive attitude and we praised this true academic feast!
