Biosketch

He graduated with a PhD from Cardiff University's School of Medicine, and completed his postdoctoral training at the Wales Kidney Research Unit based at Cardiff University. In 2018 he joined Nankai University for his second postdoctoral post, and im 202 was promoted to Associate Professor. His research interests focus on AI-assisted discovery of cell-specific targeting peptides and the development of nanoparticle-based theranostics that exploit the cellular and molecular mechanisms of tissue regeneration and fibrosis. He has published over 60 SCI research papers in internationally renowned journals, including Sci SignalJ Am Soc Nephrol, Adv Mater, Appl Mater Today, J Biol Chem, among others. He has written 2 book chapters and filed 2 patent applications.

Research Direction:

Treatment of organ fibrosis with nanomedicines (kidney, liver); AI-assisted discovery of cell-specific targeting peptides (renal cell targeting peptides); Wound healing biomaterials (skin regeneration, anti-scarring therapies); Molecular mechanisms of chronic diseases (Cell differentiation, matrix biology, and signaling pathways)
